Fair Wages & Fair Trade

Saheli Women currently employs 28 Bhikamkor women who earn a fair wage based on the quantity, type and duration of the work they perform.

The women, all of whom were previously housewives who did not formally contribute to their household incomes, are now earning monthly salaries well above the Indian poverty line. This has instilled confidence in the women and earned them greater respect and decision-making power in their families and communities.

The relationship we have with our fashion house and designer partners is based on dialogue and transparency. Our objective is to create a fair trade outcome for all parties. Openness in our pricing process contributes to the movement against exploitative labor.
